Thank you Julie for letting the year seven girls from Glen Innes School go on the 10km walk to Motutapu Island. I really liked the T-shirts the most they looked so aswome. I really injoyed it because I got te spend a lot of time with new people especially Annie. It was my first time going on a ferry and I was a bit scared at first.

Also I would like to thank Steve for the sneakers. I think the ladies from the Air New Zealand Green team are so kind and helpful.

Screenshot 2016-03-18 at 11.39.24 AM.png

Purpose:To evaluate  the skills learnt  for  snag golf.
To share our learning with the world.

Success Criteria: Use past tense.
                            Able to explain in sequence.

Yesterday was our last day for Snag Golf.We had four weeks of training to watch Hugh demenstaight where to hit the ball and how hard we have to hit the ball. Hugh told us to always keep our eyes on the ball and watch out when people are hitting the ball. Hugh also told us that we had to hit the ball at least close to the flag. Our swing had to be big but not to big. He told us that we had to have our right hand on the botton and our right hand on the top so we can get a better hit. We had to keep our left foot in the front and our right foot in the back. while our body had to stay balanced so that when we hit the ball we could get a good hit. When I hit the ball I got two good hits so I thought that it was great and I felt great.Hugh gave me a small golf club but there was already 2 balls there. We had to put the ball on the tee and the tee was on the matt.

Corn Maths

Corn Survey

For the last few weeks we have been studying “Corn maths.”Our class has been researching facts on corn and writing an information report. We also did a corn survey:

I then used “Create a graph” as you can see these are all the graph that I did to show how the students in the class like there corn.

I found this site 50% easy to make my graph. The tools were easy to work with. Next I want to learn decimals and area.

Today we played a game where you had go around with cards and you had to match them. You need 1 picture,1 fraction, 1 decimal and 1 percent. To me it was easy to work out but frustrating to get my four cards because Alyssa had the other two cards. Next I would like to learn more of percentages and decimals.

We had to estimate the parts to the corn. The hardest one was the silk because we had to count it one by one.We were very close with the corn kernels. We estimated eight hundred and twenty but the actual was seven hundred and sixty two.We estimated that the length of the husk was 27 cm and the actual length was 27 cm.
